SATELLITE TRACKING
Understanding the movement and habitat selection of large carnivores is vital for developing the most appropriate conservation and management strategies, but this has never been studied in the Ruaha landscape. The Ruaha Carnivore Project has permission to place the first satellite collars on lions and spotted hyaenas in the Ruaha landscape, and this will give invaluable insight into how these species use the area, and where conflict mitigation measures should be targeted.
